To install SW@G you must first make sure that the following dependencies are met:

The easiest way to do so is to use pip: a package management system for Python softwares.

$ sudo apt-get install python-pip

For Mac users, the command

$ sudo easy_install pip

should do the work.

Then each package can be installed in a single shell command each:

$ sudo pip install docutils
$ sudo pip install Jinja2
$ sudo pip install Pygments

You might get the following error if your network uses a proxy

Cannot fetch index base URL

One solution is to specify your proxy configuration in the pip command:

$ sudo pip --proxy=
  install docutils

You are now ready to install SW@G.

Download the archive, open a terminal, get to the archive directory and type:

$ tar -xvf swag.tar
$ python

You need to make sure that the ~/bin directory is in your PATH variable (check your ~/.profile file).
